The Heathrow ‘bake off’ challenge

The Customer

Adams Bakery, trading as Heathrow Bakery, supplies baked goods for the airline and prepared meal industry, producing 2 million rolls per week.

The Challenge

Heathrow Bakery needed a bespoke boiler housing in a hurry to cope with expansion, as they could not put the boilers inside their current buildings, therefore requiring custom-made enclosures.

Steam from the Babcock boiler was required for the baking process in the proofer to raise the bread and in the oven to control the yeast and create shine on the crust. whereas, the other container enclosure was for the oil heaters to heat the ovens.
