S Jones Containers Ltd is a leader in the world of bespoke shipping container conversions. This position, based at our Midlands shipping container depot in Aldridge, Walsall, is working for an established family business that has an excellent reputation both in its local area and within the shipping container industry.
The company has traded within the UK shipping container marketplace since its inception in the 1970s, and continues to thrive with depots now all around the country.
The permanent role for a Container Repairer/Fabricator has arisen due to a full order book and it entails carrying out repairs/refurbishments to steel shipping containers up to international shipping standards and conversion/fabrication to alter or enhance the use of the container to the customers’ bespoke requirements.
The role requires an experienced fabricator/MIG welder who can read basic drawings and is able to weld at all angles. Additional skills that would be useful would be paint spraying, basic carpentry and FLT driving.
The role is based mainly outdoors and offsite work will be required at times at customer sites, for this a full, current driving licence would be required.
The right applicant will be able to work on their own initiative but also operate well as part of a small team who all contribute and share a team bonus. As such, reliability and a good work ethic are essential.
Hours would be normally a Monday to Friday 8 hour shift with additional overtime available each day and on Saturday mornings. Wages are paid monthly.
What we’re offering
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Salary: £10.28 -£10.90 per hour plus productivity bonus monthly and quarterly profit related bonus.
The productivity bonus is paid every month and normally equates to over £3k per annum. The profit related bonus is regularly paid and can equate to £2200.
