For a municipal site in the North East of England, we delivered a bespoke containerised wastewater treatment solution built to accelerate advanced process trials and minimise on-site construction time.

Evergreen Water Solutions needed a fast, safe and efficient way to trial an advanced wastewater treatment process at a municipal site in the North East of England. Traditional construction methods, such as concrete buildings or GRP kiosks, would have required extended on-site build time, posing challenges to both the project timeline and site safety. With tight deadlines and a growing industry focus on reducing on-site construction hours, Evergreen needed a solution that could be built and tested off-site, then rapidly deployed and connected on location.
Our conversions team collaborated closely with Evergreen to deliver a bespoke containerised plant solution. A 40ft shipping container was expertly modified with heavy-duty flooring, internal lining, ventilation, and precisely cut service inlets to accommodate their specialist equipment. The prepared unit was then delivered to Evergreen’s M&E contractor for the installation of process equipment and control systems. Once fully fitted, the container was transported to their site, where it was installed and commissioned significantly faster than a traditional building could have been constructed.
Evergreen has since used similar containerised systems for phosphate removal and sludge dewatering, creating integrated treatment solutions with minimal on-site disruption.
