Heavy-Duty Container Ramps for Safe, Easy Access

Our heavy-duty container ramps for sale provide a safe, practical solution for accessing storage and shipping containers. With containers sitting approximately 7 inches above ground level, lifting items in and out can be awkward and unsafe. Installing a container access ramp makes loading and unloading easier, faster and significantly safer.

Designed for commercial, industrial and self storage use, our ramps are ideal for moving pallets, trolleys, liquids and heavy equipment in and out of containers. Available in budget-friendly options, they offer reliable performance without compromising on safety or durability.

FAQs

What is a container ramp used for?

A container ramp is used to provide safe, level access into a shipping or storage container. As containers sit approximately 7 inches above ground level, ramps make it easier to load and unload goods while reducing manual handling risks. Container ramps are commonly used for trolleys, pallet trucks and wheeled equipment in commercial, industrial and self storage environments.

Do I need a ramp for a shipping or storage container?

In most cases, yes. The raised floor height of a container makes lifting awkward and increases the risk of injury or spillage. A container ramp improves health and safety, allows smoother access for wheeled loads and supports more efficient day-to-day use, particularly where containers are accessed regularly.

What is the difference between a steep incline and low incline container ramp?

A steep incline ramp is shorter and best suited to limited space. A low incline ramp is longer, providing a gentler slope that is better for frequent access, pallet trucks and wheeled equipment, reducing strain and improving stability during loading and unloading.

Can container ramps be used with forklifts?

Standard container ramps are not designed for forklift use. While they are suitable for pallet trucks, trolleys and manual handling, forklifts require specialist heavy-duty loading ramps or dock levellers due to their weight and point loading. Using a standard container ramp with a forklift is unsafe and not recommended. If forklift access is required, our team can advise on alternative solutions.

Which containers are these ramps compatible with?

Our container ramps are compatible with most standard shipping and storage containers, including 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers. However, they are not suitable for 40ft high cube side opening containers, as these units have a higher base height that requires a specialist ramp solution. If you are unsure about your container type, our team can confirm compatibility before purchase.

Will a container ramp prevent the cargo doors from opening properly?

No, container ramps do not affect the operation of cargo doors. The ramps sit outside the container and allow the doors to open and close fully as normal. This means you can safely leave the ramp in position during use without restricting access or damaging the container doors.
