We’ve expanded our Aldridge depot by 200 TEU (20 ft. equivalent units), increasing its total shipping container storage capacity to around 2,600 TEU.
Located near Walsall in the West Midlands, our flagship site is now one of the largest container depots in the Midlands. The expansion follows a sustained rise in demand, with the depot regularly operating close to capacity in recent months.
We have also invested in new plant equipment to manage the growing number of containers moving through our depot each day.
Our Aldridge depot provides container storage for a broad mix of customers, from international shipping lines managing large fleets to businesses with individual units. The depot serves as a temporary home to an extensive range of containers, from compact 8ft units to 40ft high cube containers, alongside specialist units such as toppers, multi stores and refrigerated containers.
Demand has grown considerably over the past two years. During the first half of this year, the depot regularly operated at between 85% and 95% capacity. The additional 200 TEU will allow us to meet this demand while maintaining the service our customers expect.
To keep pace with the increased volume of containers being processed, we have invested in a brand-new, lower-emission Svetruck empty container handler.
The new equipment is used to move and stack empty containers safely and efficiently. It brings the total number of container handlers at our Aldridge depot to three, allowing our team to continue operating when plant maintenance is required.
Our depot handles around 100 containers on average each day. Maintaining the site and its equipment is central to keeping these daily operations safe and efficient for our team and site visitors.
The investment also supports our continual improvement under ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.
Customers can store their shipping containers at our Aldridge depot and also access our on-site container repair service.
Our team carries out a full range of repairs, including security lock replacements, container door and floor repairs, and corrosion treatment.
We also operate a mobile container repair service across Great Britain for customers who need work completed at their own site. These repairs help extend the working life of shipping containers and ensure they remain compliant with industry regulations.
The mobile service includes ClearRestore®, our container colour restoration service. ClearRestore® restores the colour and vibrancy of existing paintwork while shielding treated surfaces from UV rays.
