Our role in your project - what do we offer?
Whether you require a basic sports club changing room, tropicalised living accommodation or a highly modified, attenuated, thermally lined, temperature controlled unit with apertures and gland plates galore, we see our role as the provider of a finished product ready to use or receive your equipment/ process/ control panels without further modification by you.
We want to get involved in your project. We will ask a lot of questions to ensure all the container related issues have been correctly dealt with, e.g. structural loading and integrity, and also ensure other specialist features have all been thoroughly thought through and designed.

School room.
This 40ft unit was supplied to a primary school to enable children to be cared for before and after school hours.

Ply lined 20ft container.
This is a basic ply lined un-insulated container for use as a general equipment store. Whatever customers require we are able to advise accordingly to ensure the end result is as suitable as possible for the application and budget.

Generator container.
Our customer required non-attenuated units with full louvres at both ends (one being removable) for the fitment of generators. Our task was to provide units that their generators could be installed into with the minimum of fuss.

Ford boxes.
Within the field of unusual requests we were asked to supply and were happy to oblige with 40ft containers to the Ford Motors stand of the 2004 Motor Show at the NEC (the Thunderbird theme). The units were subsequently also used for the Paris Motor Show. We worked with the customer to paint the units a suitable colour that was then specially lit on the stand.

Blast retardant unit.
Converted from standard 40ft steel shipping containers to protect workers on refinery sites during maintenance shutdowns, these units are designed to withstand a 5PSI chemical blast. Across the four units we converted in this project we installed over 1 kilometer of steel section! We also provided our customer with full technical records for steel, welding standards, etc.

Din type apertures.
This unit is destined for the Middle East and we provided laser cut plates for the customer to connect an internal water treatment system to other equipment and vessels. We can also have plates spot faced should applications require it. This unit also required a specialized paint system and so the unit was fully shot blasted to SA2.5 and painted with a customer specified paint system with full manufacturer inspection records for inclusion in a technical file that was supplied with the unit.

Sand louvre
Sometimes we have to come up with solutions to requirements, and in this case it was a sand trap louvre, designed and fabricated in our workshops and then galvanized.

Electrical conduit.
Within our workshops we are able to fabricate specific non-standard items for incorporation into customer designs, as this cable ducting arrangement shows.

Security hut.
This unit was for positioning on a site and for use as a security hut. The narrow windows shown are opening louvres.

This equipment enclosure continues to show that customers need us to be able to position apertures and ventilation outlets specifically to suit the processes or equipment they contain.

Sound attenuation.
Due to noise restrictions on the site where this 20ft unit was to operate we fitted it out with sound attenuation paneling and louvres. In this case the forced ventilation fan was also silenced.

40ft office unit.
This unit was fitted out as a fully serviced office, with office space, reception, kitchenette and toilets. Due to the location of this unit high security shutters were supplied over reinforced window panes.

40ft canteen
Converted from a second hand 40ft steel shipping container, lined and heated inside with sink and kitchenette facilities, a coat of paint over the used container resulted in a tidy appearance.

20ft open side unit.
This complete open side unit (one of a number of specials we generally stock) had the cargo doors replaced with a solid corrugated wall, chequer plate floor and louvres fitted as a boiler enclosure.

4 x 37.5 sq ft self storage units
This 20ft container was divided into 4 equal sized units for use in a self storage operation. The individual units are fitted with high security doors and are separated by water-tight partitions. We can also convert 40ft containers into a variety of self storage unit combinations.

Secondary gaskets
This unit was for a very cold operating environment and we not only lined the 20ft double-ended container with high performance insulation, but also built in secondary gaskets to refrigeration specification to assist with the overall insulation of the unit.

Control unit cabin.
This unit was to container electrical equipment cabinets, so we installed Unistrut in the floor and around the walls for secure fixing of the units, given that these also had to withstand the dynamic forces associated with transportation. We also supplied forced ventilation with plenum mounted fans in order that heat generated by the units could be expelled. We are also able to supply air conditioned or, in extreme cases, refrigerated units for equipment operating in very hot regions such as the Middle East and Africa.

Aluminium lined container.
Our customer installs a specific process inside this unit for which we insulate a standard 40ft container and line with aluminium sheet, plus a personnel door.

A-frame unit.
The customer wanted the versatility of a 20ft container and a hook-lift A-frame so we combined the two. This unit has a permanently welded A-frame chassis attached to it. If a customer needs to be able to separate the two we can supply an A-frame platform with twistlocks that a container would attach to in the same way as to a vehicle trailer.

Central Lifting Beam
We fitted a fully tested central lifting beam into the container for handling heavy equipment. Our customer installed their processing equipment and accessories for testing prior to shipment.

Site Office Container Conversions
A very common request is to convert containers to site offices, mess room, or storage cabins.
Armoured and normal personnel doors are commonly fitted into the sidewalls of the container. However, in the example below the customer decided to use the original doors for security and had an internal bulkhead fitted just behind them, with a wooden internal door.
You can have as many windows fitted as required to your container conversions and we supply security shutters that make the box more vandal/thief resistant.
We have stud lined the walls and roof, infilled with ISOWOOL insulation and over-laid this with plastic coated white-face plywood.
Electrics are an option but most requests include a minimum of some 13 amp sockets and strip lights.

Sound and Vandal Proof Container Conversions
We were approached by a blue chip customer requiring a vandal-proof shell for mobile generators, which were also insulated for sound deadening to improve the attractiveness of their product in the mobile generator rental market.
We created 10ft unit conversions from standard containers, fitted custom design louvered vents for air in-let and out-let that also reduced noise emissions, insulated the box for sound proofing, installed a mounting structure for the generator unit to be held securely in place, and ducted the air-out and exhaust outlets direct to atmosphere, leaving a box that was extremely quiet and virtually anonymous as a generator unit.
Thefts of generators and fuel, and damage to the generators themselves have now stopped and more customers are specifying ‘armoured’ generators as a result!

Mill house Container Conversions
A large project management company asked us to convert a 40ft container into an integrated mill house and control cabin to their design.
We constructed two 5ft doors to give an overall 10ft doorway to install the mill, put in a bulkhead to separate the control cabin from the mill room.
A large raw material silo was to be mounted over the top of the mill feeding raw material into the mill for processing (at 3,500rpm!). We built an integrated silo frame into the structure of the container, which also became the door posts on the one side. This approach enabled the load of the silo to be carried on the bottom rails of the container, which are the main load bearing structure of a container.
The silo sub-frame is designed and built to withstand the forces of 100 mph winds on the silo attached it.
20mm thick steel mounting plates were inserted flush into the floor and welded onto the floor cross members, onto which the mill was mounted.
With other various duct ports, we then completely sound insulated the main mill room in fire resistant materials that were built and fitted to withstand many years of vibration, without any deterioration.

Hiab type top lift delivery method
The most common method of container delivery is with a hiab type single point lift crane. We work with a number of specialist vehicle operators who manage our site deliveries and site positioning throughout the UK.

End lift delivery method
One of the two common methods of lifting containers which can be used for especially heavy units as these vehicles can lift and transport fully loaded (30 tonnes) containers if required. The photo shows lifting a heavy 40ft conversion.
