Job Title: Project Design Engineer

S Jones Containers’ are a leader in the world of bespoke shipping container conversions. These large fabrications are designed, manufactured and modified in Aldridge, West Midlands to suit our customer’s requirements.

We are now recruiting for a Project Design Engineer.

As a Project Design Engineer you will ideally have:

  • HND/Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or product design would be an advantage).
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and product design processes.
  • Experience in 3D modelling using Inventor 2018.
  • Experience within a busy manufacturing environment.

Details:

  • Salary: £TBC depending on experience.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30 TBC.
  • Location: Aldridge.
  • Duration: Permanent.

Role of a Project Design Engineer:

  • Undertake work on new projects and existing product ranges.
  • Design activities from concept through to production validation.
  • Take responsibility of the robust design of products.
  • Investigate design factors.
  • Prepare project engineer data for new product assemblies and components such as Technical specifications, BOM’s and 3D/2D drawings.
  • Ensure the designs meet the customers’ requirements.
  • Forge strong relationships with the shop floor and other engineering personnel.
  • Procurement of project specific materials.

Job Title: Fabricator Welder

Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled mild steel fabricator MIG welder and fitter. Working with the engineering team to understand and work from fully detailed engineering drawings. This is certainly not a bench jig type position or for a production welder.

Due to the nature of our business. DIY, carpentry and fork lift operating skills would be a distinct advantage for any applicant.

On the job shadow training and supervision will be given. Leading you to being able to work on your own after a few months.

Salary:

Pay range from £10.82 to £11.37 per hour.

Job Title:  Container Repairer

Job Description: 

We offer a full repair/renovation service on used shipping containers.

There is a further full time position, 40 hours per week, plus overtime.

We are looking for a skilled mild steel MIG welder and repairer.

DIY, carpentry, paint spraying and fork lift operating skills would be a distinct advantage for any applicant.

This role is outdoor based.

Experience/Qualifications required: 

Skilled mild steel MIG welding experience is essential.

Salary:

Pay range from £9.40 to £9.95 per hour.
