When Monmore Green Stadium, home of greyhound racing, was looking for a way to cool down hot dogs, the management team found that the answer right on their doorstep.
The Wolverhampton stadium, which is owned by Ladbrokes plc, wanted to create a “chiller room” for use as an additional veterinary facility, and turned to the S Jones Containers shipping container conversion team to bring their vision to life.
The team at Monmore Green Stadium outlined their requirements to Les Newick, technical sales and design manager at S Jones Containers, for a specialist facility for over-heated dogs.
Richard Brankley, head of stadia at Ladbrokes plc, explained: “We wanted a unit specifically to cool down a greyhound on the rare occasion they become anxious or over-excited.
“Dogs do not have sweat glands, so they reduce body heat through panting. This is best aided by the combination of managing ambient air temperature and controlling air flow.”
But Monmore Green could not afford the time and disruption involved in having a special unit built at the stadium.
The S Jones Solution
The specialist team at S Jones provided a full design specification for the unit and provided a tour of the site to help the decision making on sizes and available finishes.
The 10ft bespoke unit featured HVAC, a personnel door and window, a tap with cold water plumbing, aluminium flooring and electrics. Before delivery, it was re-painted to the customers specifiation.Get a Quote
What Ladbrokes Had To Say
Speaking on the success of the project, Mr Brankley commented: “Having a container built and furnished off-site and simply delivered as a complete unit was the perfect solution.”
We have recently hired a 40ft container from S Jones without any issue. We had tried several companies whose customer service was not as professional. Unit was delivered promptly without any issues. Good Customer Service.
