When the call came to provide some funky looking converted containers for Europe’s largest trampoline park, we bounced into action.

We were tasked with providing something different for Freedog Urban Activity Centre in Swindon, who wanted to create a new food and beverage area, reception, party rooms and seating. The 36,000 sq ft centre at Kembrey Park contains not only 150 trampolines, but also features two large foam pits with more than 5,000 soft blocks, two dodgeball courts and two basketball slam dunk lanes.

Using our renowned ingenuity, our designers came up with creative solutions to provide a new Snack Shack, reception area, party rooms and office space using recycled, customised shipping containers. And staff at Freedog Urban Activity Centre are delighted with the result.

Freedog Marketing Manager Andrew Cox said they particularly liked the rugged, urban look and feel of the containers: giving feedback explaining how “they work really well with the aesthetic of the building as they fit with the industrial warehouse they are now housed in” in addition to conveying their “love” for “the overall look and feel of the building and the fact that we are able to offer a different customer experience.”

Our Technical Sales and Design Manager, said: “This is another project which demonstrates the versatility of shipping containers, their novelty, functionality and suitability for venues, events, leisure and hospitality uses.”

This latest project follows on from other challenges tackled by our design team in recent months.

Last year events company GTA Global turned to us to create special “pop up” bridge features for the Nissan Playstation® GT Academy 2015 International Race Camp Day it ran at RAF Cottesmore, one of five major challenges of the programme.

And previously we designed, manufactured and supplied the modified containers for the iconic Wahaca restaurant on London’s South Bank, and most recently for a ‘pop up’ café at Battersea Studios in London.

As well as mainstream container sales and hire, our specialist design engineers use 3D CAD technology to transform containers into highly sophisticated containerised solutions for events and hospitality – for music festivals, nightclubs, enclosures, pop-up restaurants and cafes, and housing.
